Frank Mahon

Writer and producer Frank Mahon began writing professionally for ABC TV’s Emmy Award winning series “Equal Justice.” During his tenure in L.A., Frank also co-produced the multi-award winning short film “Angel Fire,” which was screened at the Chicago International Film Festival. He also wrote for “America’s Most Wanted” (Fox TV). Frank wrote and produced documentary films, and also wrote children’s fiction, several screenplays, and was a frequent contributor to Irish American News. For the stage, Frank wrote and produced the romantic/political comedy “Polling Place, Maurice Walsh’s The Quiet Man,” for which he was nominated for a Jeff Award for Best New Adaptation (under the title “The Quiet Man Tales”), and most recently, he adapted Oscar Wilde’s short story “Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime” for stage and radio. Along with Chicago actress Brigid Duffy, Frank created and produced the Stone Hearth Reading Series for The Irish American Heritage Center in 2011 and 2012. A playwright, columnist, producer, attorney, gentle soul, hysterically funny, great Irish wit, loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many. |
