Woody Bolar
Born and raised in the Bronzeville area of Chicago, son of Joberta and Woodrow Wilson Bolar, Sr., Woody attended Wendell Phillips High School, and graduated from the University of Illinois, Chicago. After college, Woody ventured into business and opened an All State Insurance business, was owner of two J & J Chicken & Fish Restaurants along with his successful acting and singing career. Some career highlights include work with the Black Ensemble Theater, Morris Ellis Orchestra, ETA Creative Arts Foundation, Chicago Theatre Company, Pegasus Players, New Tuners Workshop and Victory Gardens. Woody taught fulltime in Chicago's South Suburban Grade Schools and tutored kids after school.
